FOURTH GRADE-LEAD TEACHER: DALE PENDLETON
Dale Pendleton is excited to be teaching his first year at Brent Elementary School! He looks forward to teaching social studies to all fourth grade students. He recently moved to the D.C. area from Hawai’i where he taught fifth grade for two years at Alvah Scott Elementary School in Aiea, Hawai’i. Mr. Pendleton holds a bachelor’s degree in History from George Mason University and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Hawai’i Pacific University in Honolulu.
Mr. Pendleton grew up in Elizabeth City, North Carolina working on his parent’s potato farm for many years. In 2006 he joined the Army and served for four years at Fort Huachuca, Arizona and Fort Shafter, Hawai’i. Both experiences helped shape him to become the person and teacher he is today. When Mr. Pendleton is not teaching you may find him walking or taking his two dogs, Prince and Dolly, to parks around D.C. He also bakes pies. His triple coconut cream pie and his macadamia nut pie are two of his favorites!
