SECOND GRADE-LEAD TEACHER: EMILY KADASH
This is my second year teaching second grade. I love getting to know students and families at Brent, and I value developing meaningful relationships with our kids. I strive to foster a safe, kind classroom community that is responsive to all of my students’ interests and needs. Each day, I am inspired by the leaps and bounds our children make intellectually, socially, and emotionally in second grade!
Before joining Brent, I worked with students in Brooklyn, NY while earning an MA in Elementary Inclusive Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. I have also worked for several literacy education organizations, such as The Institute of Reading Development, The Literacy Lab, and Reading Partners.
You may see me outside of Brent as I live in the neighborhood with my partner Dylan—I hope you’ll say hello! We enjoy taking walks and riding our bikes around DC. I also like to hike, cook for friends, and curl up with a good book.
I am excited to work with this year’s second graders and their families! Please reach out at any time with questions, ideas, or concerns.
