Brent will be holding a book sale of new and used children’s’ books as part of the Family Picnic. Please donate any gently used and new children’s books that you would like to pass on to the next young reader! We are looking for board books, young reader books, chapter books for kids, advanced reader books . . . any books for children. Books should be dropped off in in collection bins at the front entrance of the school and on the stage in the multipurpose room by Thursday, September 21. All proceeds will support the Brent PTA and all leftover books will be donated to Reading Partners DC, a local nonprofit that helps DC students master essential reading skills. DCPS Attendance Policy
At DC Public Schools (DCPS), it is the goal to ensure that every student achieves academic success by being present at school every day and on time. Students who have regular school attendance learn more and are more successful in school. DCPS has shifted focus from monitoring only unexcused absences to all absences by tracking In-Seat Attendance (ISA). Some absences are unavoidable, but when children miss too much school - excused or unexcused - they can fall behind.
The first PTA General meeting of the school year is this Wednesday night, September 25 at 6 p.m. Childcare provided. ASL Interpreters present.
Did you pick out some uniform items at the used uniform table or want to donate to the program? You found the place to do it! All donations are given to the school to purchase uniforms for students in need.
