Nominations must be received by 8 p.m. Friday night. Statements will be shared via the Brent Neighbors listserve by Sunday and in the front office.
3. VOTING
Once nominees have been received, their names and accompanying information will be combined into a ballot. From Monday, May 22 through Tuesday, May 23, voting will take place. Voting will take place from 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. and from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. on May 22 and 23. If anyone needs another time slot in which to vote just contact us and we can arrange something that works.
Per other school elections, voters will be checked off a master school list once they have submitted their ballot.
4. SELECTING PARENT REPS
Once voting is concluded, ballots are counted. The top three vote-getters will become the parent representative on the ballot; the fourth-highest vote-getter will become an alternate.
Voting concludes Tuesday at 6 p.m. and winners will be announced in the morning.
5. RESPONSIBILITIES OF BEING A PARENT REP
Parent representatives on will serve on a 14-member panel (more details below). They will be expected to attend several meetings that will begin next week and last until the principal selection process is over. In addition, the parent reps will be expected to help design a survey and/or other outreach process to solicit feedback from other Brent parents. Finally, parent reps will need to attend the candidate selection interviews, which are expected to take half a day or longer. We do not yet know the timing of those interviews but were told to anticipate they will be either the last week in May or the first week in June.
Please recognize that if you choose to become a parent rep you must commit to the time and task responsibilities outlined above.
