DC's Department of Health has issued a letter to our community after we reported a case of Scarlett Fever in a child at Brent this week. Scarlet Fever is caused by bacteria called group A Streptococcus or group A strep. Please take a moment to read the letter and review the fact sheet. Links to each document are below:

In addition to regular cleaning, Brent’s custodial team has disinfected high touch surfaces, tables, and chairs in the classroom with the case of Scarlett Fever, and will conduct a deep cleaning over the mid-Winter Break.
