MAY 15-19 - SHOW YOUR LOVE!
Monday, May 15th is the start of Teacher Appreciation Week. It’s a chance to help your kids show their teachers why they are loved.
Thanks to PTA and generous donations from Bullfrog Bagels, &Pizza and Pret A Manger we have a nice week planned. Thanks to Gina Eppolito and Scarlett DeShaw for coordinating. Schedule:
All week long, we will have butcher-block paper along the front hallway wall where kids and parents can write notes about or to their teachers, support staff and front office staff. There will be markers set up in the hallway.
Monday – Flower Power Day!
Please send your child to school with a flower (or more) for their teacher. Room parents will bring a medium size vase in for their classroom with a few flowers from their child to start the bouquet. Flowers can be added to the bouquet by students on Monday and throughout the week.
Additional vases with some flowers will be placed in Specials rooms and on other staff desks so feel free to add a flower where you wish.
To kick off Teacher Appreciation Week
A Bagel Breakfast will be provided in the Teachers Lounge
Tuesday – Healthy Snack Day!
Please have your child bring in a piece of fruit, a granola bar, a bottle smoothie or any type of healthy snack to give to their teacher! Healthy snacks will be left in the lounge by the PTA for other staff members
Wednesday - Lunch Day
Lunch will be provided in the Teachers Lounge.
Thursday - Write a Note Day !
Please send your child to school with a note for their teacher. Nothing fancy is needed – the words are the precious part. Suggestions include:
o “I love (fill in teacher’s name) because she (fill in example of something the child liked or appreciated). Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
o “My favorite thing about (teacher’s name) is when (fill in example of something the child liked).
o “The best thing that happened all year was when (an example of something that happened in class).”
o Or make up a note of your own!
Thursday is also the day that parents and kids can write notes of specific appreciation to Specials teachers, Principal Young, Ms. Casula, Ms. Diggs, the custodians, and other teachers & staff who positively impact their school days.
