MATH INSTRUCTIONAL COACH: WHITNEY PAXSON
I am excited to be an Instructional Coach for Math again this year at Brent. I was born and raised on Capitol Hill, moving to Pennsylvania to attend Haverford College, where I earned a B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Education. My husband, Thomas, and I lived in Chester County, PA for many years where I earned a M.Ed. in Exceptional Children and Youth from the University of Delaware and taught both in a private, separate day school, and in a public middle school in Maryland.
Since our return to DC, we have lived on Capitol Hill with our children, Will (12), Madeline (9), and Nora (7). They have all attended Brent and the school community has truly become our village! I chose to work at Brent so I could live and work in the same community and be more involved in my children’s education.
In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking, and reading and look forward to sharing a little bit of each of those hobbies with students this year!
