Parents

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year from the Brent PTA

Welcome, families!

As we begin this special year at Meyer, while our beloved Brent campus undergoes its transformation, the Brent PTA is honored to walk alongside you, continuing our mission to build a connected, inclusive, and empowered school community. No matter the building, home is where our community comes together.

This year, we remain rooted in our shared commitment: to enrich every child’s educational journey through field trips, classroom experiences, teacher appreciation, and joyful moments that bring us closer as a school family.

While we may be learning in a new space and preparing for a new name, our heart remains the same. We carry forward the Spirit of the Bear, a spirit of resilience, kindness, and unity that defines who we are and all we do.

We are so glad you are here. Together, let us make this a year full of purpose, connection, and unforgettable memories.

Warmly,

2025–2026 Brent PTA Board

For reimbursement or to request payment on behalf of the PTA, please send an email to natalie.franz@gmail.com to request a reimbursement form. Be sure to retain invoices, receipts, proof of payment, or other documentation that clearly identify the amount requested, and include them when returning the completed form.

Board Meetings

The PTA board holds monthly meetings, usually on the second Wednesday of the month, which are open to all Brent caregivers. See the Tues News for details on times and how to attend. Meeting notes can be found here:

Community Meetings

The PTA hosts quarterly, in-person community meetings. Meet your fellow Brent caregivers, hear directly from school and parent leadership, and use the opportunity to ask any questions on your mind. Best of all, meetings include free childcare with pizza for dinner! See the Tues News for more information.

Tax Exemption

The Brent Elementary PTA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit tax-exempt organization. As such it is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with IRS Code section 170.  Our EIN is 16-1713470.

The IRS letter certifying our 501(c)(3) status can be found here. The PTA bylaws can be viewed here.

Corporate Sponsorship Program

The mission of the Brent PTA relies on the support of our Capitol Hill community, and we are incredibly grateful to benefit from the generosity of the local businesses listed here. These businesses support Brent through the PTA's corporate sponsorship program, and we hope you will support them with your business!

The PTA sponsorship program features several different levels of support, which include benefits like advertising in Brent's weekly newsletter that reaches over 850 parents, a yearbook ad, and thank yous on the PTA's social media accounts and in The Hill Rag. Please see this flyer for more details, or for questions or to join the program, email brentschoolpta@gmail.com. The Brent PTA is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are tax deductible.
